ASI officials begin inspection of Srimandir’s Sanctum Sanctorum

Puri: The High Level Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which arrived in Puri, began today the inspection of Sanctum Sanctorum (Garbha Gruha) temple temple Shree Jagannath.
A team composed of ASI Technical Core Committee and CBRI officials, Roorkee will also assess the situation of Nata Mandap from the 12th century sanctuary.
ASI officials will examine the first and second floors, walls, coral and the steel cross of Garbha Gruha for which they were built in a 12th century sanctuary.
The technical team will review these plaster boards and the roof of the inner part “Natya Mandap” and “Garuda Pillar”.
