Ashok Parija takes command as Advocate General of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Chief Attorney of the Supreme Court of Orissa, Ashok Parija, took office as Advocate General (General Counsel) of the state on Wednesday.
Parija took over the office of outgoing Advocate General Surya Prasad Mishra, who in 2014 was appointed Chief Justice.
Born in 1961, Parija was admitted to the Bar Association of Orissa at the age of 23. He began working under Bijoy K Mahanti, former Advocate General of Orissa.
Parija was appointed senior advocate in 2003 and was elected a member of the State Bar Council in March 2008. In the same August he became a member of the Bar Council of India. He is the son of Late Narottam Prasad Parija and Sashi Prava Parija.
