Armed miscreants loot two houses in Kendrapara village

Kendrapara: Armed miscreants looted cash and ornaments from two houses at Bharatpur village in Aul police limits in Kendrapara district last night.
According to a police complaint, as many as five persons armed with sharp weapons barged into the house of one, Hadibandahu Sahoo, late last night. When the family woke up after hearing the sound the miscreants attacked them with the deadly weapons before making away with cash and gold ornaments.
Hadibandhu, his wife Bhagabati, son Basudev and daughter-in-law Urmila sustained critical injuries on their head and belly. They were initially rushed to Aul hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Similarly, some miscreants also entered the house in the same village belonging to Alekh Sahoo late last night when the family was fast asleep. The looters also made away with cash and gold jewellery worth lakhs from the house. However, this time they did not attack anyone as the family was in deep slumber and no one heard them entering the house.
Series robberies in the area have triggered panic among the residents of Bharatpur and Patrapur. Demanding safety and security in the locality, the people staged a road blockade on the Cuttack-Chandbali national highway near Bharatpur Chhak. Following the agitation, vehicular communication on the busy stretch remained halted for a few hours
The agitating local allowed passing of vehicles after Kendrapara SP reached the spot. assured the agitating villagers that the culprits will be nabbed soon.
On the other hand, Pattamundai SDPO Ranjan Kumar Dey, Aul IIC Salila Kumar Pradhan along with a scientific team are carrying out a probe in the houses of Hadibandhu and Alekh.
Simultaneous raids were underway by Aul Police at various locations in the locality. Besides, five suspects have been also rounded up for identification but the police are yet to confirm about the persons involved the series loots.
