Archer Deepika Kumari bags silver on the test of the Olympic Games in Tokyo

Tokyo: Indian shooter Deepika Kumari won a silver medal on a test tournament in Tokyo on Wednesday.
She lost her 18-year-old Korean San-San in straight sets. San produced a fine shot, including a flawless third set to score 6-0 in her favor.
The Indian women’s team should still make a cut for the Olympics next year, but Deepika said the show will help.
In the semifinals, Deepika went past China’s Zheng Yichai 6-0. San took the first set narrowly when the Indians fired at one point. The Korean then won the second set of 29-25, before the three perfect tens won gold.
The Silver Medal for Deepika will definitely increase the decline in the morale of the Indian women’s archery contingent, who missed places for the Olympic Quota for the Tokyo Games.
In the semifinals, Deepika defeated Chinese Zheng Yichai 6-0, but was the best in the quarter-finals against Italian Tatiana Andreoli as she returned from 0-4 deficits to 6-5 in the tiebreaker.
Earlier, Deepika defeated Lee Shuk Kwan of Hong Kong (6-0) in the first round before she was forced out by Anastasia Pavlova (6-4) from Ukraine and Sonoda Waka from Japan (6-0).
