An aviation helicopter flies over a stranded train near Mumbai

NEW DELHI: The Air Force helicopter flew fast and low over a passenger train carrying hundreds of passengers stuck in the water after heavy rain today near Mumbai.
The footage shows a Russian-born Russian-made Mi-17 helicopter flying over a stranded train and overseeing a rescue operation.
Two other Sea King Navy helicopters and six National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) boats are stationed at the rescue site of as many as 700 people in flooded open terrain, some 60 km from Mumbai.
The Mahalaxmi Express train was on its way from Mumbai to Kolhapur when it got stuck near Vangani in Thane as of Friday night. Using videos recorded on their phones, travelers turned to help on social networks.
NDRF personnel in bright orange safety gear are seen rushing to the train in inflatable boats and rescuing people.
Nine pregnant women traveling on the train were rescued. Officials said all the children were removed from the train and taken to safety.
