29 migrant labourers rescued in Nuapada

Nuapada: Police have rescued 29 migrant labourers including seven minor children from near Jamali under Jonka police limits in Nuapada district late last night.
According to sources, a police team was on patrolling last night on Khariar road when on a tip-off, the team intercepted a pickup van. On interrogation, the victims failed to produce valid documents. Following which, the cops rescued the labourers while arrested a middleman Bhavani Prasad Mishra (41) and driver, Naresh Mirdha of Kandharpad under Beltukuri police limits.The labourers were about to board a train to Uttar Pradesh from Sambalpur railway station, informed Jonka PS IIC Anirudh Muduli.
Police have registered a case against the accused middleman under relevant Sections of IPC, added the IIC.
