2 CRPF employees killed at meeting in Chhattisgarh

Bijapur: In a meeting with Naxals in Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh, two CRPF employees were killed and another injured on Friday.
A girl was killed after being caught in the crossfire. Naxals raided an AK-47 rifle, four magazines, a bullet-proof jacket, and a group of wireless security forces during the encounter.
Deputy Sub-Inspector Madhu Patil and Police Chief Taju Oti were killed at the meeting. Another sub-inspector, Madan Pal, was injured in the shootout.
Police Superintendent Divyang Patel in Bijapur said the gun battles took place near a passage near Keshkutul village at about 11:00 am when a team of the 199th CRPF battalion patrolled on motorcycles.
The reports said that two girls were caught in the crossfire. One died while the other was injured.
As the patrol party advanced through Keshkutul, the team was attacked by a group of armed rebels and a gunshot strike, Patel said.
Two minor girls, traveling in a goods van, were caught in the crossfire as they passed the meeting point.
